ok. Sparta is a city, the conservative opposant of Athens wich was liberal. There is a long story between the 2 of them going on from before the classical time and until Alexander the Great beat them all and "united" Greece under his power. Minoans on the other hand are a people, they lived on the island of Crete looooong before classical times (already in prehistorical times) and they had a very important culture, the minoic culture. Minoans were not a greek tribe, they were there before the coming of the greeks and existed parallel with them for a while, until their decadence, but they "are" greeks in the sense that they were creatively absorbed by the greeks and they, like other non greek, non indoeuropean tribes who have been living in greece, together with the greek tribes formed the greek people of later times.

Wow, I hope you don't turn your assignments in like this. First off, Minoans are inhabitants of a city, second, the country is called GREECE, the inhabitants and descendants are Greek. Look in the library, enter it in a search engine, the information is all over on this. Good luck and please proof read before you turn it in.

No, actually I belive they were whole other countries. Althought they may have been located in what may be Greece today.
