O.K. Alexa. A Year and half a go, I lost my mother, my uncle, my job, my sports career due to injury, my brother was addicted to drugs, and my father and his girlfriend moved back in to my house, where I lived very happily with my Mom. At this time I was attending University full time, and was only 21. I dealt with terrible PTSD and anxiety attacks for a year. Here's what I did to relax again.
1. Take time for yourself, and only yourself. Find something you love to do and do it everyday.
2. Confide in friends. I promise you'll be surprised at how many people are feeling the same way you are.
3. Be creative. Find a hobby...an instrument, painting, writing poetry, building etc...this way you can use your negative energy productively and be proud of it.
4. EXCERCISE!! IT REALLY DOES WORK!!!
5. TRAVEL!!!!! If you can, get away from your home and your stresses and everyone you know. When you return you will approach your problems and obstacles with a renewed vigor. And travelling IS the best eduction.

This use to happen to me mostly at night when I wanted to sleep! My mind wouldn't let me, and would go on and on about all my problems big and small, and really blow them way out of proportion. I just say to myself, you are always going to have problems or issues about something, even when the ones now bothering you are solved, so theres nothing you can do at night anyway, so you might as well sleep, and think about everything during the day. If you get stressed out during the day, go for a nice walk in the park, or someplace where it is peaceful if possible. I have learned alot since I have been forced to walk my German Shepherd everyday about 3 miles! Its not IF I walk him, its more like WE ARE GOING!! Surprisingly enough though, it has done wonders for my health, physically and emotionally! It actually releases endorphins in your system, which are healthy, for your emotional health and releasing stress, and my cholesterol went down, and its also wonderful for your cardiovascular health. It keeps me in a size 6 as well, and I have 5 grandchildren, and feel 10 years younger. Maybe I just owe it all to my dog! I think just getting out and being alone and having your own space is really what many of us need today in this stressful world we live in, it will help us to relax and tune into ourselves more. Good luck!

I know it sounds stuipid but you have to just shut down, if you find your self over analyzing things just stop, let them be what they are and just enjoy the fact that things are the way they are. I am not saying dont improve you mind by no means, but there are times when you should just think about yourself. There are probably many books out there that you could read, but that would be improving your mind... LOL so its time for you to make the choice. To relax and let things go. Or worry yourself over things that are around you.

The key to relaxation is doing things that you normally enjoy in a nonstimulating manner. Proper breathing is also important. To relax, make sure your breathing is even with a longer time exhaling than inhaling (deep, slow breaths). In order to get into the habit of even breathing you could even trying counting it out: for example 2 counts breathing in and then 4 letting it out. Also when you breath like this try to make sure you use your diaphragm. If you are using your diaphragm your shoulders should not move, and you midsection should puff off a little. This ensures that you fill your lungs with air to the botom instead of just filling the tops of your lungs (which is what happens when your shoulders shrug when taking deep breaths). Diaphragmatic breathing helps you to relax by providing your body and brain with much more oxygen.
You could also meditate in some say and calm your thoughts. That could involve listening to music you like, picturing an image in you mind (like the beach or favorite place). You should still relax your muscles and breath properly though.
You could also try just stretching to relax you muscles and tension.
In a simplier sense, you should just do what you enjoy doing while just trying to calm your mind. Some people like to read, walk, color, listen to music etc.
It's all up to you, and what you enjoy doing. Believe it or not some people have to practice relaxation techniques until they get used to it :)

Look up Ayurvedic medicine. Your predominant dosha must be Vata. Since you like questioning I think you will have fun learning about Ayurveda. You will find ways to decrease your Vata through diet, meditation... It is quite an amazing science.

Live by these rules and you'll be fine.
Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things :)
Remember there is no sense of worring about something until you actually have to. To many people worry about things that turn out to be nothing and they have worked themselves up for no reason.

ok, Alexa, breathe, and take a deep breath.
Start to make lists.
1. One list of what you like and want to accomplish.
2. The second list of what you don't like and what's holding you back.
3. As you reread your lists and cross things off, it will be more like accomplishments and then you will see for yourself you deserve to relax.
Don't forget to take a walk, and appreciate those around you...and how's your spiritual development?
If you don't feel close to GOD, who moved?..May God bless all of your dreams!

Another benefit of exercise is that it helps you focus and harness all of that energy.
You control it, and you are in control of the situation.
Seriously. Try it.
