No, you shouldn't be the one that is legally responsible for the camera. The person who LEFT the camera in your home should be responsible for it. If the person left the camera in a water park, should the water park be responsible for it if it is stolen, or should the person who left it? I would also recommend calling the police or something and have the check your home, etc. I hope this helps!

If you know it is stolen and turn it in to the police, likely they will thank you for your help and send you on your way. However, they will probably want to know how you know it was stolen. If you're don't spill the details they can charge you with possession of stolen property (because they'll probably think you're the one who stole it or you are covering for who did).
I would recommend turning in the camera and telling them what you know.

take it to the nearest police station, and report whom left it at your home.

Whatever is in YOUR house is your property. I don't think you are responsible for anything your guests lost.
