If your doctor's not worried, then don't worry yourself. I gained 50 pounds (ack!) but a good bit of that was water. I lost 25 pounds within 10 days of having the baby (clearly the water weight - well, and the baby himself!).
Don't cut back on food, just make sure you're eating good healthy foods (along with the occasional ice cream). Get as much exercise as you can, it will help you bounce back faster.

So long as you are eating healthy and staying active with what you are used to being active with, don't worry too much about the weight gain. I gained 50 pounds with each of my pregnancies. .. I also had big babies. . .my first was over 11 pounds, and the other two were induced early becuase of size. I lost over 30 pounds with my first after only two weeks. .. becuase he was 11lbs 7 oz, and the placenta weighed that much more, etc. If you gain 40 pounds, it is not the end of the world. Just stay away from sugar and fat and it's all ok. Walk when you can, even if it's just 20 minutes 3 days a week. (That will help with labor, too.) Good luck honey! Enjoy this pregnancy. .. there is no pregnancy like your first! You'll never have your first pregnancy again!! xoxoxo

They say the normal is 30-35 pounds but everyone is different, with my first child I gained 28pounds with my second i gained 37pounds, my close friend has had 3 children and gained between 60-75pounds each time. So i guess it just depends on the person. If your really worried about it, then just keep an eye on what your eating try to keep the sugar to a minimum (i know its hard sometimes with the cravings) and try not to drink any regular soda. Good luck and remember the important thing is a healthy baby no matter what you gain you can always get it off afterwards with a little work. God bless

On average a woman should expect to gain between 20 and 35 pounds, depending on her overall build and how much she weighed before becoming pregnant. Try to cut back a bit and eat healthy foods. If you're overweight by the end of the pregnancy it will be that much harder to get the extra pounds off afterwards.

I was 17 when my first was born, weighed 115 when I got pregnant, and over 200 when I delivered, the docs wanted me to eat, and gain more than normal bc of my pre pregnancy weight. I lost down to 118 in 3 months after the birth.
It is SO much easier on a teen to loose weight than a 40 year old...so eat, but more fruit/veggies and dairy than honey buns..lol.
As long as your doctor isn't worried, your fine, just walk alot..it really does help when you deliver!

YOu should talk to your doc. It depends on the weight that you should gain can be diff so its best to check your doc.... you have to think a lot of the weight can be the baby, water and then the fat. Thats why you should work with the doc at whats best. Also you can do preg workouts there is so many out there and they help with your labor. Again check with you doc. I can't say that enough your not the same as others out there so some one could say no and then it be diffrent.

It is completely normal. Healthy weight gain during the period of pregnancy is good for the fetus.
Though, if you find yourself gaining more than 55 lbs, you may want to cut back a little, but not too much.

That weight gain is completely normal. You should gain 2-3 lbs a week till your babys born. Don't stop eating. maybe cut out the sugary foods and eat healthier.

A normal weight gain is 25 to 35 pounds. I think you should maybe see a nutritionist, who can help guide you better.
