If you went out with this guy first and now your friend is going out with him, that's not your friend. You should get as far away from whoever this person is as soon as possible. However, if you just like this guy, then I can firmly tell you that it is okay to be hurt. But, once it starts to get serious, it's time to back off. If you really think you have serious feelings for this guy, though, and it's not just a crush, these feelings should be shared. I'm really on the fence on this one, but I'm more than happy to help.

Don't do it find somebody else. You need to shake that feeling quickly before you end up ruining a friendship. Real friends don't do that that is rule # one unwritten
