Has she expressed a wish for a handbag????????????
It's a bit impersonal....I would suggest a nice piece of jewellery...you can't go wrong with diamonds!!!!!!!!

Holy cow that's a lot of money to spend on a girlfriend at 16 unless you are from Laguna Beach? Lol maybe you should talk to my husband about shopping for me! (kidding!)

Anyway...you should not spend too much b/c one, I don't know if this is a short-term or long-term thing. Why don't you save your money for proms or dates with her? But if you do want to spend up to that much try:

1. Taking her out to a nice restaurant, a movie, maybe a carriage/horse ride? Try a waterfront restaurant. Ask her what she likes, does she like seafood? Then make the gift around 45$, the night out will already be around 150$. Try a pretty clear CZ necklace with a round circle (that's trendy) (Macy's being a good place to start or Nordstrom).
2. Forget the handbag. That's for a girl to buy anyway.
3. How about a "spa robe" from Bath and Body Works, and some foot exfoliators, and lotions, etc. A big basket full of goodies from there. Then invite her over, give her a foot soak and footrub, lotion her feet too.
4. A spa day somewhere like to get a pedicure, manicure and maybe a massage probably around 100-150$ dollars.

I can call myself as a handbag guru since I own so many handbags (50+). I'm just addicted to them.
The handbag's style depends on your girlfriend personality as well.
First, you have to know what kind of brand she likes.
Then how she dress up herself. What color does she like?
If she doesn't dress up a lot. You can go for Prada or Miu Miu handbag for being minimalist.
Does she like to carry a lot of stuffs? You might need to look for big bag.
Black handbag is always safe and classy.
The affordable handbag is Coach for your budget.
If you want other premium designer brand, you can go to Bluefly.com, Amazon.com. Both are selling authetic stuffs with good discount.
Go for Ebay if you have a decent eye to detect authentic handbag from fake one. You can get very good deal on Louis Vuitton.
Good luck!

$350 to spend at 16? Lucky girl! I personally like Coach, which has a range of prices. But I agree with the other ladies on buying several smaller gifts. Some perfume, a hoodie from Hollister or Abercrombie, a bracelet, a frame meant for a picture of the two of you taken on the night you give it to her, if she needs a purse, maybe get her a cute one from one of her favorite stores. But, if she asked for a designer purse, that is what you should get her. Look at what kind her friends carry, that is most likely what she is wanting.

Good Luck!!

the problem with handbags is they never seem as expensie a they are. You could spend less and get an impresseive piece of jewellery or even better a weekend away for the two of you. It may be over after two days but the memories will last longer than a handbag.

You should impress her with some Louis Vuitton! The limited edition Groom collection is out right now and you can get her like a coin purse for $200 and a matching hair bandeau (a long skinny scarf for hair, belt, or to be tied onto a purse) for $110. You should call 866-VUITTON they will talk you through it or give you other recommendations. Every 16 year old girl goes nuts for this stuff right? You'll be hers for ever...

You wont get a decent designer that she will know for that price, unless you are buying a clutch(mini purse, more like a big wallet)

Why not spend the money having a leather one custom made. Find out what style she likes and the colours. My dad did that for my mom and every 5 years he would get one redone.

You might check out http://wholesale-purses.blogspot.com They have a link on the right side of their site that says 65% off for wholesale designer handbags. I went there and bought my wife a purse and she loved it and it was a good price compared to some other sites.

185 pounds, that's got to be ONE special bag! designer or not if i were you instead of spending it all on just one present i'd buy her lot's of little ones...Or if your really stuck...ever thought about a nice watch or ring? Ask the sales person she will advise you.
Girls are so EASY to buy for! Good luck!
