Every time I go out and socialize, no matter how much I make people laugh, say witty things, have an intelligent conversation, get on with many different people and mingle really well,

I come away regretting things I've said or done that were "wrong", I start to cringe and shutter thinking about some things I did or said, wondering if I acted appropriately or went overboard--etc. etc....

This happens whether I've had a glass of wine or not!
Does everyone experience this or is it just me because I'm a huge blabber mouth with paranoid tendencies?>
The funny thing is, at the time, I think I'm doing everything perfectly fine, but I leave and I'm like, UGH! I'm such an idiot!

Stop being so hard on yourself. We all make social mistakes at times. Learn to laugh at yourself.

Sure, I've felt the same way.
All of your acquaintances also feel insecure, to different degrees.
And, you aren't the only one good at hiding it.

Try making it less about how you feel and more about how the other person feels.

If you spend more time genuinely making others feel good --
A compliment, or ask about their kids, offer a drink or seat, etc--
Do this, even with people who don't seem to "need" support -
Your reflections on the evening will feel better.
You might even find yourself smiling about it.
And, others might think of it and smile, too!

I do not think ur an idiot at all. anyone can experience things like these encounters socially. we'll come out of a social gathering and think "omg, did i REALLY say that" or "omg, they prolly think i'm crazy or weird," etc., but it's not like ur different than the rest of us. at one point in our lives, we ALL come away feeling that we made a mistake or acted stupidly, really, but i bet they felt that way too. we're all different, but sometimes the same in these situations. it's not stupid to feel that u did something dumb. just don't worry what ppl think and then u'll come away thinking "wow, i had fun talking to them. maybe it'll happen again." and see how good ya feel!

In a way, I know how u feel..when I ask people about it, they say that it may be because we are self-concious of ourselves, wanting people to like us..its not very healthy actually..so now im trying to not care so much about what others think about me and keep a positive attitude..i recommend you to do the same.

i have the exact same problem. I think it's just something more deep seeded in side or a more personal problem. Really I dont think you are doing anything to drastic or wrong, because if you did somebody might say something or show it. I think it may have to do with self-esteem.

Christians do no longer say that the religion is in keeping with faith and not works. we are saying that salvation relies upon faith and not works. Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by potential of grace you have been stored by way of faith, and that may not your person doing; it is the present of God--no longer the end results of works, so as that no person would boast." we are so under the goodness of Christ. we are able to in no way do good adequate works with a view to maintain ourselves. we ought to consistently count on the grace of God. that's all we've that saves us. regardless of the shown fact that, it is the works that supply others the information of our faith. Christianity demands a theory that variations all that we do. If i'm taught all my existence that 2 and a pair of is 5, then that theory variations each and every little thing that has that throughout the maths subject. 22 and a pair of will become 25. 22 and 22 will become fifty 5 and so on. If i'm then taught that 2 and a pair of is extremely 4, yet I proceed to jot down on papers that 22 and a pair of is 25, then my theory is ineffective. It would not substitute me. It would not substitute my existence. My theory in God variations who i'm. It enters all areas of my existence and variations the way that I act. that's a theory it somewhat is useful no longer complacent. James 2:26, "For merely by using fact the physique without the spirit is lifeless, so faith without works is likewise lifeless." yet in a different way of watching it somewhat is that what we examine in scripture ought to by using fact glaring in our lives. we ought to consistently be doers of the observe. James a million:22, "yet be doers of the observe, and not purely hearers who lie to themselves." it is not a faith without works. we are pronounced as to good works with our faith. regardless of the shown fact that, that's salvation that we can't earn with our works. The works are actually not what earns us something. it is the information of our faith. it is the information of the observe of God in our lives.

You should have more confidence in yourself. We all make idiots of ourselves from time to time, but other people forget about our gaffes long before we may.
