I believe it was first popularized by Ronald Regan. It was a great tool for him. He kinda defined them as he wished to see them. Talk radio has taken the baton and run with it. The technique is to talk about the opinions of a few extremists and apply it to a whole group of people. It is so easy to group and make generalizations. I mean I have met very few people who TRULY fit the criteria. I don't think conservative is used in quite the same way. I hate it. Why can't people take every issue on its merit. Bad for the country - very, very bad.

I am neither. I am INDEPENDENT.I vote for the man (or women) who in my judgment does the better job.I lean towards Republican now because the Democrats are too anti- business & I am a small businessman.I dont like some of the things GW has done in the war. But I also dont like Kerry, Kennedy,Charlie Rangles,& Hillary cuting down our troops.So there are some good & bad people in both parties .
