When should I start taking Clomid? (when I get my prescription)?

I am confused with clomid and when to take it. Do I take it on the 3rd day of my oeriod or 5th day? Please only reply if you have taken it before. Thank you for your advice!

Typically CLomid is prescribed for day 5-9 of cycle, although there have been research studies about using Clomid on day 3-7 or 4-8. Some of these studies are trying to prove that the earlier dates are better. It has not been proven yet though to my knowledge. I would check with your MD as to when he/she wants you to take the medication because if he/she wants to draw a progesterone level, the last dose of Clomid is important.

I take it on Day 3 thru 7. If i were you, make sure your doc has given you your prescription ahead of time. There have been times when i started on a Friday and needed to take the clomid on Sunday...if i hadn't had the Clomid already prescribed and on hand, i would have missed day 3 due to the office being closed. My sis works for an OB and is a nurse. Most of their girls do days 3-7.

I am taking clomid now. (days 5-9 of my cycle) but it completely depends on the woman and how long her cycles are. That info is very important and plays a big role in when you will ovulate. If you want Clomid to work properly, it has to be taken as directed by your Dr.....Call and ask your Dr. or nuse to know for sure. Good luck!

Call your doctor's office, and talk to the doc. or the nurse in that office, as only they can tell you when and discuss your situation.

usually, it depends on your cycle. i was advised my doctor to take it on the 3rd day of my period. but i would suggest that you ask your doctor about it before you take the medication.
