Think of the bottom of box B. It's 3ft by 3ft. So you could fit 4 of box A in the bottom layer because 2 box As are three feet wide. Then you could fit 4 more in the next layer, because box B is 3 feet high, and two box As are 3 feet high. So its a total of 8.

There is a much easier way to do this. You don't have to work out the volume of either box. If box A is 1.5x1.5x1.5 cu. ft. & box B is 3x3x3 cu. ft. then the linear scale factor is 2, i.e. the lengths of box B are twice the size of Box A. Since we are interested in the scale factor applied to the volume then the scale factor would have to be cubed since it is three dimensional. The volume of box B is 2^3 times the volume of the box A which means you can fit 8 box A's into Box B.

1.5x1.5x1.5 = 3.375 cubic feet (box A)
convert yards to feet 3x3x3=27 (box b)

27 divided by 3.375 = 8

8 boxes of A to completely fill box B

convert the yards to feet, so instead of 1x1x1 it's 3x3x3.

3 (feet) x 3 (feet) = 9 (feet squared) x 3 (feet) = 27 (feet cubed)

1.5 (feet) x 1.5 (feet) = 2.25 (feet squared) x 1.5 (feet) = 3.375 (feet cubed)

27 (feet cubed)/ 3.375 (feet cubed) = 8 (NO LABEL HERE, the feet cubed cancel eachother out)

The final answer is 8!

1 yard = 3 feet

3x3= 9 sq. ft. in box B

1.5x1.5= 2.25 sq. ft. in box A

9 divided by 2.25 = 4

the answer is 4 boxes

1.5 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 3.375
3*3*3 = 27

27/3.375 = 8
