But the vast majority of you reinforce my hypothesis that people en-mass are RETARDS.

Agree totally. This forum is an excellent example. Just more bleating sheep spewing the regular dogma.
Most people find TV advertising to be an insult to their intelligence. But those Madison Ave ad execs are pretty sharp cookies, so it must follow that the bulk of the ads are aimed at the lowest common denominator, which is the majority, encompassing all down to the delta minus semi-moron.

Use of the word "retard" is insulting to the mentally handicapped. The anonymity of the forum allows people to vent, & many (sometimes includung me) take advantage of that. Some are probably just trying to get reactions from people. Sometimes I oblige, sometimes I try to give reasonable answers to unreasonable questions or even non questions. 1 of the most popular tactics is the "Have you stopped beating your wife"?" type of question, where there is no possible reasonable answer (unless you really ARE beating your wife). I find I agree with most of the smart insightfull answers as well as many that are neither smart, nor insightfull nor even answers. I think a lot of people are just trying to have fun, but I suspect some really are hatefull little a--holes.

There are actually a good deal of intelligent people here. Even some of the ones posting idiotic, divisive questions aren't stupid -they're after a reaction and very much playing a character in order to get it. Y!A is successful more because of its entertainment value than its informativeness, and a lot of people are amused by bickering. And this particular section provides plenty of opportunity for that. And I hope I'm not in your Retard category because I'm not.

Answers is the place to let people know what you are thinking. I have noticed lately a lot of people are giving silly answers but that is their right. I also notice a lot of people using the answers to let you know that they have a company & trying to sell you things,. I noticed one today when I was answering a question on immergration. I thought it did not belong there I did not report it because it was none of my business. I am also a businessman but I would never try to sneak a commerical on here because this is not the place. It is for Questions & Answers not adds.

I think maybe the vast majority of people here are children...bored latch key kids with too much time on their hands. Children just experimenting with shock effect and becoming amused when so many people take them seriously.
Cheap thrills for bored people...act stupid, racist and biased and get a rise out of people. What will they do/say if I...?
I think people are more bored and lonely than they are stupid but I'm sure stupid is playing a big hand in it too.

the scary thing is... at least in the politics section... is these are the people that are probably paying attention more than most to politics, because it's clear that they have more of an intrest in politics than the normal person, why else would they be here?
so, these are the ones that are "paying attention to the issues" the most... I use the word "issues" lightly...
too bad most of them are so bogged down in rhetoric they can't see the forrest for the trees...
