i am a freshman at my highschool and we are a small town and do not have a boys volleyball team. But in past years we have had girls play football and Wrestle. People say that Guys cant play volleyball for some reason. Why cant guys play volleyball on a girls team you tell me

Girls are allowed to play football and wrestle with guys because they are competing at a disadvantage. If a guy were to play on a girl's team, they would be playing with a distinct advantage. If you want to play volleyball, either you, your parents, or both should talk to the school's athletic director, or even the school board and see if they will explore the possibility of adding a boys volleyball program

The technical answer is because the other schools' teams will only have girls on them. It wouldn't be fair to put a guy (with naturally more physical strength than a girl his age) onto a team that would compete against teams made up of only girls.
In football & wrestling, all of the schools technically have co-ed teams, even if no girls join, so it's therefore "equal".
You should work with your school's administration to get a boys' volleyball team going. There's bound to be plenty of other teams in your league to play against, as it is a very popular sport. I would bet that if you can find a coach, you'd find plenty of players. Good luck!!

Guys just aren't allowed to play on girls sports. Guys are much more physical and tough than girls are, and having them on the team would give them an unfair advantage. Girls playing on football and wrestling, they will never be the best players because women are just not as physically tough and brutal as men tend to be. It's just life.

Guys do play volleyball. Most guys I know play better than females. Society for some reason views women as weak and feeble. They are allowed to play on male teams because they are not viewed as an advantage to their team. You are viewed as an advantage when you play on an all female team.

i think you are right. anyone can play any sport. they are a way of exersize and to keep fit and have fun! if you want something bad enough then you will get it and stick up for it. and you know what? guy's were the first to play volleyball anyway! a man invented it! it was played in the ymca around the 1900 i think or late 1800. so there!

Guys can play but I think not enough really want to play. But if they started playing on girls teams then it may make the sport unfair as guys have certain advantages when it comes to sports.

If i were you i would find a group of guys who agree with you. Talk to your principal or a sports advisor and see if you can get a team started. Its not very fair that guys are not allowed to play so they should start a team.

Guys should be able to play on girls volleyball. If you can't, pitch a fit. Complain and call it sexually unfair. That should get the ACLU up in arms.

OH MY GOSH THEY SO DO PLAY VOLLEYBALL LIKE SOME OF THE BEST PLAYERS ON OUR TEAM IS GUYS AND THEY ARE PRETTY HOT TOO. THEY SAY THEY CANT PLAY BUT THAT IS SO STUPID IT MAKES IT ALL THE MORE COMPETITIVE AND IT IS FUN BUT I THINK BECAUSE FROM THE START IT WAS A GIRLS SPORT GUYS DON'T WANT OT BE CALLED GAY OR A FAG. SO YEA I THINK IT IS STUPID BUT LIKE GET SOME POPULAR GUY TO GO OUT WITH YOU AND THEM BE LIKE " COME PLAY A GAME WITH ME" AND TAKE HIM TO PLAY AND HE WILL LOVE IT AND THEN IT WILL BECOME POPULAR AND EVERY ONE WILL LOVE IT AND HE WILL LOVE YOU FOR SHOWING HIM THIS AWSOME GAME THAT HE LOVES SO HE WILL BE LIKE SO HAPPY AND LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!!!!! tata!!

yes guys SHOULD have a REAL volley ball team our school has something for the guys called "buff puff" where there's only one game and it's against the classes. same thing w/ girls football "powder puff"
