I think I sort of know what you mean. It isn't my husband, but I have a good friend who rubs a LOT of people the wrong way. She simply says exactly what she thinks. I agree she could be more tactful sometimes, but I personally find it refreshing, and oddly relaxing to know that she doesn't say one thing to your face and something else behind your back. Besides, she is never malicious or intentional about hurting anyone's feelings.
However, I also get a lot of "how can you stand to be around her" questions. I guess I'm just strange for liking her. Her blunt honesty doesn't hurt me, so I am able to see and appreciate all her lovely characteristics.
The worst part is that she now has a reputation for being harsh, so many people immediately interpret everything she says to have some evil intent. And instead of saying "gosh, SuzyQ, I'm a little senstive about that" and letting her know the boundaries, they just run off and sulk and gossip to others about it.

No, but although your husband is honest, there's a way to put things and he's obviously not saying them in a polite manner.
If your friends think he's an a**, then you should evaluate his behavior towards them. He's obviously not treating them with respect, that's something you'll need to see. If he's being too honest, he could be intentionally hurting peoples feelings for his own self comfort.
But, in the end he's your husband. So, if you don't care about your friends, forget about what they say. And, if their words mean much to you, then check out your husbands behavior.

yes and i also had it the other way. i get hurt sometimes but atleast i know if i ask a question it is answered honestly. i have learned when to not ask questions i don't want to reallywant to hear the answer to, and i usually know the answer anyway. when i said i had it the other way i meant that i had a guy who wouldnt be honest about anything i asked, and i prefere the bluntness. so blow off your friend and know that they are the ones being lied to!

sorry, i don't have that problem. i've heard that the english are brutally honest. maybe your friends just don't understand his up bringing. if you are happy with the way things are in your relationship, don't worry about what others think.
unless he is being brutal physically.

Honey, all that matters is that you love him and you are happy in your relationship. Others don't like it, tough.
