http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registration/think.asp is the link giving you access to the Charity Commission, through which you must go to register a charity in the UK. There are a number of things to consider before decidingto go ahead with registering as a charity. For example, you will have to have a trust deed, charity trustees and keep careful accounts. There are quite onerous duties associated with being a charity and it is not something to be taken lightly, as if you are one of the trustees and things go wrong, then action could be taken against you. There is also the consideration of what happens if you decide to wind up the charity. But you will get all the help you want from the Charity Commissioners.
