The Democratic philosophy at its core is no different from the Republican's, both relegate evolution's greatest achievement: the individual human, and his inviolate mind, as second class to fantastic mystical mindless monsters, a vile, violent, enslaving god, or the everyone except me fevered dream of "society." With the end of industrialization, end of technology, end of advancement as their goals, not just towards a Dark Age of slavery and ignorance, but to the quiet mindless grave. Any philosophy that is opposed to fair trade over violence, obeying to thinking for yourself, mysticism for human reason, is an enemy of free, happy people everywhere and must be vilified and the practitioners thrown out of office, and never elected. There are great people in the world, great minds, and these people should be your governmental leaders, and no one should be forcing us what to do except our own well reasoned passions.

The philosophy for the democrats is to tax the rich to take care of the poor, but at the same time, make the poor so dependant that they cannot recover from the poverty making them a subclass to the rich. They believe in big Government and the "do what feels right" philosophy.

Generally the liberal mindset consists of:
Increased international affairs
Increased funding for things like arts, welfare, and healthcare for the less fortunate.
Increased "right to choose" on most issues
generally a more progressive viewpoint on things and a focus on the society instead of the individual.
edit:
Also a decrease in military
Often an increase in government size (because more programs means more government)
by contrast the conservative viewpoint is:
an increased view of the individual
a "constrictive" government where laws dictate morals
lower taxes
less money for society
more money for defense and military

To fight the terrorists, not Iraq, to save the middle class, to
re-introduce science back to the United States & to get our
allies back. I'm leaving out stuff, but I think you get the point.
