I would do the same thing I did last year for the XBOX 360 which is wait in line for 12 hours. The guy next to me in line sold his spot in line for $100 to some desperate guy though. It was pretty funny. He even gave him the camping chair he was sitting in. I was so disappointed in the 360 though and sold it within the first week. I bought another one this past summer and sold it too. There just isn't enough games to make it worth the $500. I hate the fact that I have over 50 original XBOX games and I can't play most of them on the 360 and the ones that I can are grainy and the graphics don't look right. Also I've heard many horror stories that the 360 is scratching game dics. I think it's best to wait it out and see how people like it first. I learned my lesson. I just laugh at all the dummy's that paid over $1000 for a machine that they could have bought retail if they just had enough patience to wait it out for a couple of weeks or stand in line like I did.

I would not go to any lengths. No console is worth $600 (excluding PC). Sony is creating their own downfall by trying to profit off of this. Xbox 360 has and will sell more consoles than PS3 and PS4 combined (if there will be a PS4).

I would wait until it wasn't that new anymore and the price went down.
