Both equally inferior ...Americans do stupid things and the British stupidly go along with it.

There are superior and intelligent people in both countries. As a Brit though, I would say the question, "Who has the most common sense" , may be, in this context, a more appropriate question. Everyone is intelligent, if they know how to use it.

Whereas then again, there are people with and without common sense everywhere in the world. I am still trying to work out your reason for asking such a question. It is night here now so enjoy your day!

Good luck and I will monitor your question!

Who " ARE" intellectually superior !! 1 to the Brits! Name two intellectual Americans , tricky, are there such creatures? Gore Vidal and Woody Allan spring to mind, both are disliked by Americans, too smart, too Liberal ! Taking society as a whole , Britain is hugely more tolerant of "smart assed" people, we do not fear Liberal thinking, and in literary and intellectual terms we can trace civilisation beyond the Romans. You seem to have stalled with Reagan and Bush.

There is no such thing as Superior just Different and intelligence is hard to calculate at the best of times. The statistics for USA and UK would be similar as we have a similar culture. There are more Americans though so they are bound to have more CLEVER people and more DUMB too!
A child in a country who doesn't go to school could still be intelligent they just wouldn't be educated!

The British generally have better education at least up to university level. The truth is that the differences in measured intelligence vary to much individually to make any valid statement about Brits or Yanks.

There are plenty of thickos in both countries. Unfortunately, most are in the government.

I have not noticed any significant differences in intellect, but I think the British are more aware of world affairs than the Americans.

It's Britain. The average IQ is 102.00. The U.S. aren't on the chart usually, but I think they're 97.0 to 98.0 according to tests.

Some time back the US challenged the UK academics to a number of knowledge tests. The UK beat the US 9 time out of 10. Even beating them on American history

The Brits of course.

We have a completely different mindset.

'The law says we can have guns therefore we must own one'

I do think that Bush and Blair are about as stupid as each other tho - Tony playing up to the superpower licking *** and Bush forgetting his name. (And these people are in charge of the RED Button)

On balance Americans. From listening to them on radio and TV, the ones I encounter are certainly more articulate.

The Americans are Britons.... wasn't all that long ago they got into boats and set sail from Plymouth to Plymouth... clearly homesick already.
