I don't think so. Also they do everything based on bias feelings. They take one issue that they are passionate about and vote for the party that supports it regardless to what the party does with the rest of the issues.
I truly believe this is the stupidest society in the history of existance. There is something so wrong when a society just follows.

irregardless of 6 years of stupidity, warmongering, and torture from G W Bush and pervert-hiding from the Republican congress.

Don't make a blanket statement about Americans. Many of us are annoyed at the shape our government is in and it's complete lack of regard for it's citizens. We aren't naive about who's interest our elected officials really have at heart. We understand that on any given day, both of our major political parties are screwing someone on the world: at home, it's the middle class.
Many of us had issues with our government before 9-11. We acknowledge that our government operates from a perspective of fear: put fear into the citizens, make good elected officials afraid to take a real stand on any damn thing, don't speak your mind for fear of being branded un-American.
The sad part is even with all this, we still have it better than most. I love my country, I love my community. I hate what greed and special interest has done to it. I'm saddened by how apathetic we've become.

Mass society does do what you describe.
If only there were more that weren't such sheep.
Who cares about gay marriage, flag burning, etc?
Instead of starting a war of aggression that has made America more vulnerable to the evil that we trying to fight in the first place (terrorism), why didn't we focus our money on domestic problems?

We are taught that other country's are falsely lead from birth . No I won't name them .
