If your religion tells you it wrong and you wish to live by the tenets it teaches you then yes masturbation is wrong.
However, I believe masturbation to be normal and natural.
Edit - I have been giving this question much more thought. I read an artical that I think you may find an interesting read. It is Christian based, I say that only because you never mentioned what faith you are.

Why would God forbid something that made us feel good?Drugs or booze are not involved and If the fantasizing bothers you, fantasize about your wife or husband or significant other. You can have impure thoughts about others without masturbating as I am sure well you know.Besides it is a great way to release stress and anxiety and make sure that your plumbing is in working order

Do you want the truth or do you want me to tell you what you want to hear?
I'll tell you that I thought it was o.k. since I wasn't having sex, but when I began researching the bible I found out that I was wrong...
I've read some of the other responses and they say it's fine, no it is Not.
You are defiling your body, you are pleasuring yourself by your self.
Someone also wrote that it's better than adultery, I'm sorry but sin is sin.
God looks at all sin the same way.

You should read "The gift of Sex" by Clifford L. Penner and Joyce J. Penner They are a licensed (Christian) Therapist and nurse. Their conclusion is that it is not sinful to masturbate if you are doing it for relief. However, if you are married and are masturbating out of lust for another woman (or man) that is a different issue.
The story of Onan in the Old Testament is usually quoted in reference to this issue. However, Onan was not punished by God for masturbating ("spilling his seed") but for disobeying God's order to father a child.

It's better to have sex with a starnger for guys but women dont have any seed so they can do as they please.However..for males we are supposed to have sex with our woman or wife and she is supposed to give us herself as our wife. The though of sexual intentions is suppose to be a sin but thats what we do ... sin.. I'd say do what feels right and if you think it might be wrong than in probably is...

Do you believe everything your religion says, or do you have your own beliefs?
Why buy into others beliefs when your own experience tells you otherwise?
Actually, scientific research shows that unless it takes over one's daily activties, masturbation is healthy both for body and mind.

No, it's great to know your own body. Masturbation is a great stress reliever and makes it easier to teach you partner what you like. You do it in private, so no one should judge. God wouldn't of made it so easy and so fun if we weren't supposed to touch ourselves!

I don't see it as wrong...but everything is subjective to one's own conscience. If YOU think it's wrong, you either need to quit doing it if you feel guilty for it, or you need to find a way to reconcile within yourself that what you've been taught all along might be questionable. I'm Christian, & I don't see God smiting me for it.
