OK, I've seen it on Yahoo Answers, in magazines, etc... people asking questions of total strangers that are either common sense or much too important to be relying on any old schmo for anything solid. I saw in a magazine the other day, 'My 9 year old is bad at math, should I get him a tutor?' ---Where has common sense gone? Are we that paralyzed that we can't evaluate these types of personal decisions?

Right. I too get befuddled by some of the questions here also. I usually stay in polls and surveys as they are just for fun. Paralyzed is a great word. I know many adults who are afraid to parent their kids. Some saying "I don't want to hurt their feeling" when I grew up we didn't even know we were allowed to have feelings until we were teenagers.

What annoys me is when people ask for medical or psychological advice. Especially with the psych stuff, people can tell you something totally wrong that could be harmful. Go to the freaking doctor or see a therapist!
It also annoys me when people with no knowledge of a subject or education at all answer questions and try to convince people they know everything.

society today does not promote individuality,so people think they need someone else to tell them what to do at all times. although you do find some people with common sense you wont find them here asking questions only answering!

I agree...there are alot of really stupid people out there. I think some of them are unsure of their own decisions and need validation from strangers...which makes no sense at all!

i think 95% of our world has indeed lost the ability to have or use common sense..it is sad to see how silly people have let themselves become..book smart is ok but you must use common sense in your day to day living

I somewhat agree, but what's the harm in asking someone for their input? Just like your question.

People are afraid to make decisions. They don't want to be wrong.
