the other is uncertain and nervous. How would the two candidates communicate these contrasting impressions?

The first is well dressed, well groomed and confident in their answers and stride into the room. The other is fidgity, not well dressed or at least appropriately dressed for an interview, does not maintain eye contact, and hesitates before answering questions as if to think of an answer.
Note: even if you are applying for a job that does not require a suit or slacks and a nice shirt...you at least wear the slacks and a nice shirt, ie: you are applying for a position as a landscaper (who might wear shorts on a hot day working) you dress nice for the interview.

put your self in the shoes of the person doing the hiring, what do you see? would you hire either one? if yes, explain to yourself in 25 words or less. if not then do the same for a negative answer, can either one benefit the company, or should you get someone else? remember that your job and reputation are on the line what ever the result is.

Body language clearly shows our emotions. The good interviewers can spot fear and insecurity right away. There are many books on the topic if it interests you. Good luck!
