I wanted to be Flava Flav for Halloween and since he is very proud of his blackness, part of my costume was painting myself black. I didn't think this would be offensive but someone that I used to be friends with emailed me when they saw the picture and said it could be very offensive to black people. Is it really?

Two things happened that made me think it wasn't. 1) I made friends with a black guy at the party that loved my costume and we hung out later. 2) A black woman I know dressed her kid up as a redneck and painted him white.

My question is: do you think painting myself black to represent a black person was offensive? I certainly didn't mean it to be...

Black people should be flattered that Flava is such an icon that you wanted to dress up as him.

go on a website that will tell you how many calories you need to stay at the weight you are now, there's an option where it says phisical activity it would be in bed or hospital, then subtract 400 calories to lose weight. another thing is make a smoothie of juice from 4 oranges, juice from 1 grapefruit, a green apple sliced, 2 celery sticks, and a handful of cut nopales( a mexican item that is like cactus, make sure you take of the spines) you blend it together and you might need a glass of water added too, then you drink all of it, you could add a tablespoon of powdered flax seeds for more hunger control. if you get hungry later in the day take slim fast or a salad with light dressing. in five days i've lost a lot of inches and 10lbs. and I didn't even exercise just daily movements, and if anyone says it's unhealthy, it's not, people say that because when you lose weight fast and then you could easily go to your old habits, but its not unhealthy. don't throw up i know a girl that died because of it.

I think people have forgotten the true meaning of Halloween. They just use it as an excuse to do dumb things like you did instead of FRIGHTENING people. Come on people!

I think it was in very bad taste that you do something like that. Just like you dont beat up your teachers for giving you a D there are just somethings that you should know not to do. If you dont then you werent raised right
