This is such a hard question to answer cos everyone will have their favourite charities. Ask yourself who u wld like to help by raising money doing yr climb next year. What has touched yr heart. Is it aids, cancer, child abuse, homeless, resources in Africa? See so many to choose from. Look inside yourself and you choose where you think best the money that u raise would benefit. Good luck in yr climb.

I have family down in Cambridgeshire and when my auntie died and left 3 young kids at home, they were referred to a Charity down there called The Cambridgeshire Children’s Bereavement Support Service (STARS).
They helped the kids discuss how they were feeling and really helped them cope with their grief. Without them I don't know where they would be now.
They are funded at the moment by The Big Lottery Fund but this funding is due to run out at the beginning of next year.
My sister and I are running the Edinburgh Marathon next May to raise money for them.
Here's a link to their website so you can see what they do and what they're about!
Good Luck with the climb aswell!

Why Not the BBC's "Children in Need" at least you know then that all 100% of the money goes to the Good Causes and none goes to covering overheads like most charities.

Good luck with your climb - I'm not sure whether it's extremely brave or extremely dumb! :-)

As for a charity there are many, many charities across the country, all of whom need help.

My suggestion would be to look for ones that receive no statutory funding, such as children's hospices. I am a fundraiser for my local children's hospice, Treetops, and we are always desperately in need of people to support us to help us maintain a 24/7, 52 weeks a year service of respite care to life-limited children and their families, and a home nursing service.

Air Ambulances, such as the one that took Richard hammond to hospital after crashing the jet car, are not government funded and need charitable donation to keep going.
I think every county operates an air ambulance.
