The brown note, according to an urban legend, is an infrasonic frequency that causes humans to lose control of their bowels due to resonance.

However, as the supposed effects are difficult to explain through known medical science and have yet to be verifiably reproduced in a controlled environment, most medical professionals are of the opinion that the brown note, at least as described in the legend, does not exist.

Brown sound is where people loss control of number 2 from certain frequencies of sound. This though is only theory and has actually been tested as false. This has been looked into though for police tools to render criminals defense-less for a time. But sadly brown sound has been proven false. That would be one heck of a prank to pull on people you don't like. LOL

In technology, brown noise takes its call from Brownian action, a random, foot-stepping trend of action. The picture representation of the sound signal mimics a Brownian trend. It decreases in capacity by technique of 6 dB in line with octave and, even as heard, has a "damped" or "mushy" high quality compared to white and pink noise. See also violet or pink noise, it really is a 6 dB boost in line with octave.

No there is not. The mythbusters tested it out. and it was not plausible.

Episode 25: Brown Note
Ever the chance-taker, Adam puts his body to the test for science. Will he be able to withstand subsonic frequencies, or will adult diapers be his only hope with the Brown Note?

The only brown sound I have really ever heard of is what Eddie Van Halen calls the tone he gets from his guitars. But he is the only one I have ever heard refer to his sound quality as "brown".
