I think the citizenship of the child should be left undecided until the child reaches the age of 18 then he or she can decide for themselves, but the place of birth for the child should remain where the child was originally born.

Where ever the parents are citizens from is where the child will be a citizen from. If the parents are US citizens and have a child in another country while being over there for a little while the child will be a US citizen and may also get dual citizenship. But having a child on a plane probably wont happen cause you arent allowed to fly in the 3rd trimester unless the child is premature!

If the flight is domestic, then the country the flight is in would be the country of citizenship.

If the flight is over the Atlantic, the child would be a citizen of Atlantis. If the flight is over the Pacific, the child would be a citizen of Oceania. Either way, the child will have to become a mermaid.

The child's citizenship would be the same as his/her parent's citizenship.

Most likely it will not happen because Airlines will not sell you the ticket (nor will let you on the plane) if you are over 6 months pregnant.

I have heard wherever the plane lands is the place of birth because you have to take the baby to the hospital wherever you land to get medical attention.
