on you home screen right click on your IE shortcut select properties a page will open and there chould be a line for you curent home page you can chage it to anything you want form there unless this virus pervents it also.

Yes, use ANTIVIR to remove viruses. Though ANTIVIR can automatically update its vdf, you may force to update it, and I did it twice a day! (morning and evening), just to be sure that i have the latest definition file.
If your IE gets you lots of trouble (to configure), then it's time to change your browser. Welcome to MOZILLA FIREFOX!
When you install FIREFOX, you may install also firewall like ZONEALARM. Then, when everything's ok, in ZoneAlarm don't allow IE to get into the Internet!
FIREFOX is easy to configure and has a very good interface!

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.
