I am auditioning for Little Women - The Musical on the 18th of November, and I'd like some suggestions on songs with a similar style.

How about songs NOT to sing?

Any disney song
Any whitney houston song or mariah carey song.
STay away from pop songs done by britney spears or christina aguilera.

If you can attempt it, what impresses people more if you are able to sing some type of opera song or one from a known musical.

A good way to find an audition song is to look at the cast list for the B'way production of the show you want to audition for. Google the actor who plays the part you hope to play. Their resume should be online. You can see what shows/roles they've played and get an idea of other songs that might be appropriate for that voice type.

I would prob stay away from something like Phantom or common broadway songs just because everyone does them....you want something that's going to make u stand out from other people but also one that's going to show off your strengths and your range. good luck!
