Well elements make up compounds. Compounds make up mixtures. Homogenous means that there is only one "thing" in it. Hetergenous, means two or more. A solution is a liquid containing a dissolved substances. The solute is what is being dissolved to make the solution. A solvent is what dissoves the solute to form the solution.
A colloid is a suspension of finely divided particles in a continuous medium from which the particles do not settle out rapidly and are not readily filtered. A suspension is the state in which the particles of a substance are mixed with a fluid but are undissolved.

I hope that this helps you out some!!

Simply: Elements combined to form compounds, both are pure forms of matter.

Mixtures can be divided into two groups-heterogeneous and homogeneous.

Heterogeneous mixtures are suspensions and colloids.

Homogeneous mixtures are solutions. The two parts of a solution are solvent (does the dissolving) and the solute (gets dissolved).

Get a "A".
