135 miles / (60 miles / hour)

= 135 miles * (1 hour/60 miles) = 2.25 hours

The way to work these kinds of problems out is to pay attention to the units.

Remember that "miles per hour" means that number of miles divided by one hour. You are given miles and miles per hour, so what operation between "m" and "m/h" yields only time (hours or h) as a result? The answer is m divided by (m/h).

Well, the distance he travels is 135 miles at a constant speed of 60 mi/hr. That means that 135/60 equals the total time for the trip.

135/60 = 2.25 hours or 135 min. So he will arrive at his destination at 12:15 PM.

Ok, so when you drive 60 miles per hour, that's 1 mile per minute so if you drive 135 miles, that's 135 minutes which is 2 hours and 15 minutes

So if you take 60(minutes in an hour)/(MPH)*miles driven= time driven in minutes
So (60/60)*135=135

x=MPH and y=miles z= time driven in minutes
60y/x=z

distance = velocity * time

135 mi = 60 mi/hr * x

x = 135/60 = 2.25 hours or 2 hours and 15 minutes

let:
r = speed
t = time
D = distance

r * t = D

60 * t = 135
t = 2.25 hours
So, it would take until 12:15 to go 135 miles.

60MPH equates to a mile a minute. 60Mph/60minutes = 1MpM

At one mile per minute, it would take 135 minutes to reach his destination. which is 2 Hours and 15 Minutes
