Did you tell them you spotted after sex? You probably are just having braxton hicks ( the false labor) Your body is practicing. If your doc office said to drin water, than drink water. If you didn't tell them about your spotting than call agian and tell them then here what they say. If you are really concerned then get off the computer and go to the er. Don't wait. It's alright to be concerned and demand that they check you.

Kick back and relax, drink plenty of fluids....water would be best. If they don't hurt and you aren't having 4 to 5 in an hour just relax for awhile. This happened to me during my last pregnancy, I thought I was drinking enough fluids but my body didn't agree. If you are dehydrated even just a little bit it can cause contractions to start. They should stop after you have gotten enough fluids.
I would also call the doctor back if you haven't heard from them by quitting time. I usually call about 30 min. before they are supposed to close. This way you would have drank more fluids and would of been resting for the afternoon. They need to know what is going on even if it is nothing. I always hated "bugging them" over the "little things" but that is what they are there for. And if you still are worried later you can walk into L&D you don't need an appointment.
Anyways, good luck. I hope you feel better.

Any contractions that are at regular intervals should be checked by a doctor with an uterine monitor. You may be dehydrated or have a urinary tract infection. Both of these things can cause contractions. Sex can cause contractions as well esp. if there is nipple stimulation which should be avoided when you are pregnant. Until you are seen by the doctor you should rest, do not lift anything or do anything strenuous, drink plenty of fluids, cranberry juice wouldn't hurt, and lie on your left side if you notice an increase in contractions. This increases blood flow to the uterus and fetus. If you can not reach your dotor by continuing to have him paged and you feel 'unusual' for this pregnancy go in to hospital.
I do not agree with what the nurse told you over the phone. Not knowing how long you have had these contractions and if you are bleeding or not currently would be a concern of mine. If you have continually had these contractions since last night, go in and be seen. Cervically changes can occur with contractions at a regular pattern such as 1 an hour for several hours and not stopping if they are strong enough to make you stop what you are doing, go from back to front, or cause pelvic pressure.
Good luck.

Drink 1-2 large glasses of water and lie down on your left side for awhile.
Don't worry about the pink that is cervical blood from the intercourse most likely.
If you have contractions that are less than 10 minutes apart, OR OR a lot of blood, OR a lot of fluid discharge, OR a lot of downward pressure go to the ER immediatly.
Otherwise wait 1-2 hours after drinking lots of water and relaxing if the symptoms get better or go away relax. Your body was just telling you to take it easy and drink more.
If they are the same and you are worried go to the ER, better safe than sorry
If they are worse definitly go to the ER.
It is probably nothing so do try not to panic, panic will not help.
Good luck
---------------
Edited to add: The contractions are probably unrelated to the sex, but discuss it with your doctor when he calls you. Don't just stop sex without even mentioning it to your doctor. That's just silly.

Sweetie, no matter how old or young you are, please stop having intercourse.
Relax, as much as possible. Wear Loose clothes no tight jeans.
Hopefully you do not have to work.
DO not bend up and down. If you have a job that requires this, when your doc gets back to you, request a medical prescription for work release until the child is born. Hopefully you can do this. If you cannot, start thinking of friends to call on for help.
I had my first baby at 6 months because I did do all the above and went into labor. They could not stop it. I gave birth to a 3 pound 2 oz daughter. She left the hospital 9 months later and 5 major surgeries with one failed colostomy and the other successful.
She is a beautiful young small mother of three today, but she was what the surgeon called NINE LIVES.
Please Darling don't take this lightly, the baby's lungs and heart are so very undeveloped. Take care and call family until you her from the doc.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. If they were productive contractions, they would be at least somewhat painful. You may even have a painful contraction now and then, but its when they become regular that you have to worry. I contracted many times a day in the last couple months of my pregnancy, sometimes painful, most of the time just tightening feeling.

I wouldn't worry to much unless the pains got severve but just gets lots of rest drink plenty of fluids stay off your feet just prop them up on a pillow just relax everything will be fine when you bleed or spot after intercourse its best to avoid that until after the baby is born cause having sex can cause preterm labor and you dont want that well i hope everything works out for you and congrats on your baby

keep track of the time of contractions, how long they are, and the pain rating of the contraction...rating them on a scale of 1-10..1 being small amount of pain and increasing to 10 being the worst. keep this wrote on a piece of paper because, you will need it.do drink plenty of water this helps. if, the pain continues to increase with the contractions. don't hesitate to go to the er there will be an ob/gyn on call. intercourse with your spouse will not hurt the baby.

Yes increase your fluids and rest, see if the contractions stop. No more sex for U!lol I went into pre-term labour at 34 weeks from it, but the increased fluids and rest stopped it. The hospital was right, just try and relax, drink up and if they start getting more frequent then once an hour, then go in.
