What is a good new war movie Modern or WWII ?

FLAG OF OUR FATHERS was excellent. It was long, like 2 1/2 hours, but pretty well paced and definitely an interesting story with memorable characters.
Not a war story but one involving the Coast Guard if you're looking for guys in uniform, try THE GUARDIAN.

It's not that "new", per se (few years old), but To End All Wars was fantastic. Really powerful true story of a Japanese camp in WWII.

If you see flags of our fathers and like it, there will be a "sequal" called letters from Iwo Jima. It will tell the story of the battle from the Japanese perspective.

it was made in 2001 but Bandof brothers and saving private ryan but it was made in 1999 i think
