I keep getting e-mails from these sights telling me that someone is searching for me. When I go to the website to see who is looking for me, I have to join to find out. Are there really people looking for me or are they jerking my chain?

They are playing on your emotions. Maybe that cute little red-headed girl really wants to meet you, Charley Brown.

(If you don't read the comic strip "Peanuts", that line will not make sense; write and I'll explain it.)

Or maybe not. $29 will tell you for sure. If they send out 10 million e-mails and only 0.0001% of the people sign up, they are money ahead.

We all had boys/girls we noticed but didn't actually talk to in high school. Mine was a girl with sandy-blond hair and a spray of freckles. I still wonder what happened to her, 40 years later. Classmates.com and the rest make money off those questions.

Unless the messages have a name in them - a name you recognize from high school - it is probably a marketing ploy.

I get those too. I refuse to pay them to show me who is looking for me. That is IF anyone is REALLY looking for me. Probably jerkin' your chain.

They're jerking your chain. Isn't it annoying?
