Avoid her as much as possible. You do not have to go to every family function with your spouse where you will have to encounter your mother in law every time.
If your mother in law comes over to your house, avoid her and keep the conversation to a minimum and find an excuse to leave the room.
If you happen to sit across from your mother in law at the same table and she starts talking "bad" about you and putting you down so she can have some sort of "power", don't say anything, instead, just give a neutral look to your mother in law and just look at her. It will make her leave the table.

Kill her with kindness. I did this with my ex-mother in law and guess what? She ended up loving me, she was so depressed when I divorced her son. LOL we still talk and do lunch. She is a kick in the pants now, we laugh all the time about how evil she was to me!

Just be polite. If she never comes around, you can at least feel good that you never sank to her level.
Dragon knows. She had an almost mother-in-law convince Dragon's now ex-fiance to leave Dragon.

Thankfully, I never had to deal with that, but I say as long as you and and your husband are happy, that's all that matters. Mother in Law will gave to sh-- or get off the pot. Your marriage is your life.

nothing. make her hate me more and more. i would be glad to have a mother-in-law that would hate me. so it wouldnt be boring, we would fight all day long.

One of two things you can do.
Smother her with kindness until she comes around
or
Ignore her til she disappears.
I preferred and did the second part myself. Couldn't stand the B***h

Do what i do... torture her with the very presence of you. It gets my brothers step mom in a bad mood when i am around.

i hate it when they hate me for no reason at all. i try my best, but then they still have problems with it. i'll say, just ignore them.
