Never truly live. There is always a few second delay. Even then, very few calls are taken straight to air. Most are taped, then replayed at convenient times.

Not anymore. Radio stations normally record your talking segment and play it after a break. Some shows like Lex & Terry are on a 20 to 30 second time delay. They do so they can bleep out any comments inappropriate for going on the air.

Not any more. These days there is about a 2 or 3 second delay, just like with live TV. Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" had a lot to do with that!

no, if you notice they always say caller 9 wins whatever and then they go to a song or a commercal, it's after...that they playback the call

No, they don't do that just in case you say something inappropriate that they can't air.
