For the second - multiply by -2/3:

- 1/2x - 2 +2 = 16 + 2
- 1/2x = 18
-1/2x / -1/2 = 18/ - 1/2
x = 18( -2/1)
x = - 36
2. 21 = -3/2(x - 2)
21 = -3/2x + 6/2
21 = - 3/2x + 3
21 - 3 = - 3/2x + 3 - 3
18 = - 3/2x
18/ -3/2 = -3/2x/-3/2
18(-2/3) = x
-36/3 =x
-12 = x

I would first multiply by the LCD toget rid of the denominator, then go from there.
I did the 2cd one first
.Mult by 2
42=-3(x-2)
Divide by -3 since it goes into 42 evenly
-14=x-2
add 2
-12=x
1. mult by -2
x+4=-32
sub 4
x=-36

Its basic algerbra. get rid of the fraction first by multpling both sides by the bottom and mutlipling both by the top. Then the () drop out and then its as easy as adding and subtracting.
1.x=-36
2.x=-12
