waxing the upper lip can hurt just a bit but is for only a split second. I am an instructor at a beauty school and teach waxing everyday. and i also work in salons doing waxing services. If you have an experienced person and the right products it wont hurt a bit.

No i wont get my legs waxed as i find it too painful but i get my upper lip and eyebrows done and its no problem. What i did find helped was i went to a salon where i knew the staff were friendly and told the lady i was quite scared and it made it much easier. If you are doing it at home make sure u put an unscented moisuriser on it to calm the redness. I can assure you the redness from waxing looks a lot sorer than the actual waxing itself. Hope this helps.

The wax hurts only for a second.
The part that hurts is when they tweeze the strays. Ouch.
And your skin might break out a little from the wax, but that only lasts a few days.
After you do it a few times, you will become numb and won't be irritated by it anymore.

yes, but only for a quick moment if done correctly. take a tums or rolaids (antacid) about an hour before waxing, it will reduce the amount of acid in your skin which helps in preventing irritation. after, put some hydrocortisone creme on the waxed area. it will reduce swelling and irritation.

short term compromise yields a long term gain!

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
