This is a big myth. I read about it the other day on www.howstuffworks.com. A rumor was spread that you could tell the race of a person by looking at the middle two numbers of the social security. if you go to their website and do a search for social security numbers you can read all about what the number really mean.

No, that is utter crap, they were breaking that all down on TV last week, that part of it is where and when you are born etc.. well my sisters ssn and mine are exactly the same except for the last two digits, we were born nearly three years apart, different locations. The thing is, our mother applied for our ssn's at the same time...HMMMM
