You have forgotten more than I will ever know about Florida but, speaking of white beaches, google "Whitehaven Beach" which is located on the Whitsunday Islands, a collective of continental islands of various sizes off the coast of Queensland, Australia, situated between Townsville and Mackay and some 900km north of Brisbane.

The sand there is pure silica! It actually glows, its breath taking.

It's the type of coral and shells found in that area - that's what sand is - crushed shells and coral from the ocean.
