I thought orthotricyclene low was something that made your periods lighter instead of getting rid of them all together.

I was told by a doctor that most birth control is the same.. they just tweak a certain ingredient and advertise it as a completely new product. I've been on orthotricyclene regular and ortho novum and I haven't really noticed a difference between the two.

Also.. the birth control patch has had recent issues. I would not use that unless you are adament about not taking a pill everyday.

I also had a friend who was on the nuvoring... she is now pregnant. Maybe her and her husband didn't wait long enough. I'm not too sure.

I adore it... I had been on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen previously, and gained about 10 lbs (probably more from laziness than actual effects of the hormones, but you never know). I did lose the weight much more easily when I switched to the lo-dose.

You could practically set your watch by how regular my periods are, they are short and painless, and I shag like a bonobo on ecstasy and haven't gotten pregnant in the three years I've been on it. My only issue is that there does not seem to be a generic equivalent yet, so I must buy them through Planned Parenthood as my insurance doesn't cover them.

I got switched to that from Mircette, which made me get my period every two weeks.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo was a lot better for me and didn't give me any side effects. When I decided to get pregnant, I stopped it and was pregnant within the month.

Later on, I started taking it again, but this time it makes me kind of nauseous, especially during the third week. I'm guessing it's due to all of the hormonal changes my body went through when I was pregnant, but it's not really terrible.
