It depends on if you are dedicated to it. You have to practice every day, and knowing how to read music helps. When you start off play the easy stuff like ode to joy, and yankee doodle, it may sound stupid, but hey, it's better than what you could play yesterday. Your fingers will hurt from pushing on the frets, but just keep playing. Soon calases will form, and it won't hurt anymore. Good luck!!

It is easy to learn the chords and strokes, it is entirely something else to actually "PLAY" a guitar.

not really, I'm learning to play the acoustic guitar, playing individual chords isn't hard, but moving your fingers to different strings to play th next chord is whats really hard

I tried when I was a kid and it made my fingers bleed. Aside from that, it ain't rocket science.
