HUman Rights, the right to live where you won't get beat up and live the way you should in accordance to the law of the land and the law of God. if you are going to attach human rights to the social percentage it will be difficult, because by default our society judge, in short making our living the human rights thing void because whatever you do you will be critisized, so HUman rights does not apply as a whole but more of in an individual manner.

Not sure if this covers it, but I reckon that anything to do with humans that has "act" or "policy" written on it is bound to be complex, flawed, contentious and rarely understood by the very folk it is designed to aid. It would also be difficult to enforce because by definition an act & policy is meant to be all encompassing. I'll give this the dumb-downed viewpoint then: my right as a human is that I should be able to believe and participate in whatever I wish PROVIDED that in doing so I do not impose these views and actions on a fellow human being resulting in offense or harm in any way. Oversimplified perhaps, but as a building block, perhaps a good place to start.

human rights affect every aspect of life not just social policy.

everyone has the right to absolutely loads of things but they also have a right/responsibility to respect other peoples rights. ....
to be honest and I work in the Social Care Field I think most of it is a load of hogwash... human rights act is supposed to being redrawn up on certain aspects of it because it has left lots of loopholes for those that are basically on the wrong side of the law.

you have as many rights as the lawyer you can afford..

denied shelter and housing and correct, necessary social services fro years due to wrong not so easy disabilities and no legal assist.
despite ALL THE LAWS- IF NO ONE TO UPHOLD THEM THEY ARE BUT A JOKE BOOK.
ada/405 title II,III and unruh(California) violations all happen all the time for the poorest of us.
most poor legal either un trained un willing or not funded to do individual advocacy.. so the "act" never happens.
