You could look it up yourself in a dictionary but here are some difinitions:

you're barking up the wrong tree. People who sit at their computers answering questions from random strangers have never had an ambition in their lives.

some sort of desire, which might not actually be your own, but a false idea given to you by the society you live in or your family growing up.
As for an example, wanting to be super successful and make loads of money might not be your true aspiration...
