my in laws force us to give presents to everyone in their family. i dont get along with my husband brother and wife, because they hate me and we are force to give them presents. i dont want to because if they dont like me, why would i feel like being nice to them??? last christmas my father in law even gave us money to buy the presents. its insaneee. then they waited for us until 7pm to open presents. they had 5 grandchildren at their house for the winter break and they made them wait for us.
i think christmas is for the children, i think its crazy that they made this kids wait for us. imagine their desperation... to me is a family time, so i was with my husband and kids enjoying the day and the presents we got and having fun. they invite us for dinner, so we went at 7 when they said they were going to eat.

this is why i think is commercialize. i will never spend another christmas in this country, i will always go back home for that, when we actually spend time with each other and its not about the presents is about being together and we are not force to give presents to people we dont like.

Totally. Let's make this clear: Christmas's meaning ISN'T to give presents. It was the birth of our Savior. And no everyone thinks it is just for fun. Poor them.

I think it is more of a commercial holiday like Valentine's Day. But, having said that, it is what you make it.
