Alright, you guys. I've found myself in quite the pickle. I'm not one of those hardcore fashion gurus, so when asked to homecoming a week ago, I was certain I had the perfect dress. It is an exact replica of the white halter worn by my personal favorite, Marilyn Monroe, in the Seven Year Itch. Mind you, it is white, and I just recently started second guessing myself on this choice. Please respond with opinions ASAP, only because the dance commences tomorrow! Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it.

pair it with black accessories--heels,maybe belt it, a little black purse and a thick headband...it'll look more mod and detract from all the white.

While it is traditionally a faux pas to wear white after Labor Day, modern fashion tends to throw conventional wisdom out the window. There really are no rules anymore. If you look good in white and feel confident in the dress, then go ahead. If you're still a little unsure, try a colored (or maybe black) wrap with matching shoes and see what you think. Have fun!

White can be stunning at a homecoming dance. However, if you're really concerned about it, you won't feel comfortable and it will show.

If you truly love the dress, get it and wear it to the "holiday or winter" dance. If you're comfortable in the dress and it looks good on you, then go for it.

Heck, my prom king and queen showed up in matching powder blue tuxedos as a joke, but they pulled it off, because of how they felt wearing them.

Okay, I think that the color isn't necessarily the problem. The style of that dress is very summery (because of the light and flowy fabric). I'd say go for it if you live in a warm climate (ie. Florida, California, Hawaii, etc) but if you live in a cold climate, I'd suggest you find something else to wear. Good luck and have fun at Homecoming!

A cute, knee-length dress is all you need. Every department store in the country has a section devoted to the less-dress-up dances alongside the super-formal dances. I prefer spaghetti-strap dresses that let me dance (aka the ones that are loose from the waist down instead of tight). I tend to go for colors like red, but it's all up to personal taste.

I've never thought about it, but now that you've said it, white would be awesome! Not a lot of other people would be wearing it, so it'd stand out!

Tradition makes me so sick and my stomach turn, wear what makes you beautiful & comfortable, besides who cares what everybody elese thinks, everbody elese has their opinion, and will do what they want, let's not get started on other issues, such as sex before marraige, rights for gays & lesibans to adopt & marry, illeagl citizens, etc. so do YOU !!! and FORGET about everybody elese....

Remember you only live once, so forget about what everybody elese says and thinks because, there going to talk about you anyway even if you don't wear the "white dress" trust me...

Good Luck...
