I would go to the Family Court in your area and file paperwork for a decrease in alimony, unless you agreed to permanent alimony. If so then there is nothing you can do, but if you aren't making enough and they based the amount on pay you were making when the alimony was granted.....you are entitled to a cost of living adjustment.

What state do you live in cause I don't think there was alimony anymore.
Try going to the judge.

Sorry to hear this but unfortunately unless the judge agrees that you have a true hardship case he or she will probably inform you to get another job or take on two or how ever many you have to to meet the courts expectations. and that an agreement could have been met through an attorney prior to the final decision, I wish you the best of luck!?

how did you get a higher amount anyway, i thought they based that on the income? just go back to your lawyer and try to get a court date for a reduction. they do reductions when a man pays child support, so i do not see why you could not do that.

i would really go back and check into that becuase if you do not pay alimony and it is court ordered youcould get into trouble

You have to go to the courts. Just show proof of what your wages are, and they should beable to change it, just like they do child support. Unless you have a bunch of property, they do add that as assets too..........so, just check with your courts, or consult an attorney

Go to the courthouse and file to get the payments lower. They can't make you gain extra employment for spouses, only for kids.

You go back in front of the judge and have him re-adjust in accordance to what you currently make.
