Do you rate other people's answers with a thumbs down just to get the 10 points?

Just wondering if people do that, especially if the asker doesnt pick a Best Answer and the person with the most thumbs up wins?

No. I'm not in this for the points, although they're nice to have.
Besides, I don't think giving a low rating will earn points anymore.
I've given "thumbs down" to answers that are rude, insulting, condescending or offensive, incoherent, ranting, trolling, spamming or simply irrelevant to the question.
If someone simply expresses an opposing viewpoint, as long as it's done respectfully, that doesn't warrant a low rating.
An answer that is too long will often get the thumbs-down from me. I don't want to scroll all the way down just to read it all. I'd prefer that the answerer post a link to follow if I want to learn more.
Some of my answers have gotten low ratings, for reasons which, frankly, mystify me. A responsible, opposing viewpoint or personal preference is not a valid reason for a thumbs-down if one reads the Terms of Service. And I strive to comply with the rules. Go figure.
But now, I'm probably rambling on, so I'd better stop here.

Actually I rate all genuine questions with a thumb's up, if it is interesting for me to answer. The only questions or statements that I give a thumb's down to are the ones that use defammatory language or are not even a concise sentence and cannot by any stretch of the imagination be called a question.
