YES!! My husband is a manager at a Goodwill. We are even more fortunate to get an employee discount on what we buy!! I love all the designer clothes we can get for such a little price!
It's all for a great cause--the money goes to help employment programs etc for those who otherwise may not be able to work.
EDIT:
Each region of Goodwill stores is different. The region that my husband works for is very picky about what they sell. They only sell things that are in near perfect condition--nothing ripped, dirty etc.
Just a ways from us is another Goodwill that is in a different sales region/area. They will sell anything and aren't as picky. Just depends on where the store is and who runs that region.

Well here we have several goodwill type stores....our actual goodwill store is not very good, the stuff seems to be a little dirtier than say the salvation army store. Here in NY we also have a lot of very nice consignment shops, a little more expensive than goodwill but much cheaper than department stores, and they have sales there too. This summer I was able to buy clothes for 50 cents to a dollar and they were name brands like LEI and a Yankees jersey!! Umm to answer the second part though...yes I did get carried away because of the inexpensive prices and spent more than I anticipated.

I love Goodwill. I do end up buying way too much. mainly because it's so cheap. I have bought a lot of clothes there. It's a great place to get kids clothes. hate spending too much on clothes that they sometimes only get to wear once or twice cause they grow too fast.

YES! I LOVE Goodwill, and yes I always end up buying too much. I just bought a 25in television for $30, a VCR for $6, another television for $20 and everything works perfectly fine. Sometimes I buy clothes from there, always wash & iron them before I wear then though.

All the girls in our family buy from goodwill. Or as we call them here, second hand stores. We have been able to wear some really nice clothes because we got them used and didn't have to pay a fortune. I suppose you could over buy, but we have a budget and so we have to stick to that.

my mom love Goodwill store to death. Everytime she comes visiting me she has to go see the store.
Yes, you might end up buying too much (stuffs). However, you help disabilities people and things there are cheaper than regular stores.
I like to buy vintage clothes there.

I love Goodwill. My favorite thing to shop for is sweaters for the winter, they have such a variety and if you look around really good you will find really nice name brand clothing, the best part you pay very little for it. You should check it out. If you really like their stuff, you problably will end up overspending but just remember its all for a good cause. :)

I do shop there, I like it, but you have to really look at what you are buying. You can get excellant deals, I love to shop there for my kids play clothes.I usually do not buy to much, I gues the sizes my family wears are very common, so I usually don't have a lot in the sizes that I want to choose from.

I love thrift stores. We live in them. When you are on limited funds you do what you have to do. And not be ashamed of it either. 3/4 of my childrens and grand childrens clothes come from thrift stores. Sometimes I end up spending more then I intended though because when you run across good deals you just can't pass them up.
