Even though they have said they would only consider rolling back the last tax-cut for people making over $250,000 a year, how would they accomplish any tax increase with a Republican Senate and President?
The best we can do for the country is make sure Democrats control the house and get a few more seats in the Senate so, we have a chance of returning to the debate and compromise format of government. Most people don't want government controlled by the extreme right or the extreme left. The Repubs controlling everything has really hurt this country and corruption has exploded.

Chances are, IF they raise any taxes, it'll be on the top 1-3% of wage earners. And since most of you R's are to retarded to make that much, it won't affect you anyway.
Even if the democrats win next week, they can't withdraw the troops anyway-- the prez has to do that. They can call for it but that's not going to get very far.

Actually, the troops will come home in a predictable time frame regardless of who wins the majority next week. It has become obvious to both parties that this war is futile.
And if the results of repeated polls are accurate, Americans would in fact be willing to pay higher taxes in return for specific benefits. I tell you what, I for one did not benefit from any tax CUTS in the last 6 years!

which Democrat can win the White House in 2008 ? John Kerry has the best chance but only if he holds a press conference and comes clean on why he grandstanded after the Vietnam War. Why he back stabbed his fellow soldiers and give a public apology to all of the men and women he disparaged with his self serving "Genghis Khan" speech. Anything less and he will prove to me that he is not worthy of the presidency

So if we don't pay higher taxes , exactly how do you think we are going to get this country out of the bankruptcy that Bush has put us into? Just where does money come from in your world. ? Bush has overspent and over spent and sooner or later someone is going to have to pay. Or are you the one with the money tree in your yard
Of course I guess we could wait for Haliburton to share its profits on oil from Iraq with us.. but I think they will only share with Bush and Cheney... so you let me hear your ideas for paying for our huge deficit.. hmmm????

Nothing will happen if the Dems or elected, it will just be more gridlock and deadlock. Nothing they pass will ever be law because Bush will veto it. Except Spending.

They might or they might not.
But Bush definitely won't.
And he needs taken down a few pegs for the torture and starting his war in the first place while failing to pursue terrorists.
