I left for university aged 20 and hated it. Moved back. Left aged 22 for a different university, went to China for 2 years after graduating and then came back aged 27 because I wanted to qualify as a teacher.Lived with my parents for 3 months waiting for the course to start. Finished the course and lived with them again for 8 months while I tried to get a job. I have now successfully managed not to live at home having got a job aged 28 and hope to remain independant from here on - although I'm grateful for their support.

18 years and 2 weeks. My mum said so many times she wished she could turn back time.
I hate to say it but even 10 years later I still think they were unreasonable at the time. I believe that by leaving so young I helped my younger sister enormously - she had much more space than I used to have and I actually feel really happy for her.
I now live some 500 miles away and if it wasn't for the fact that I don't want to and can't afford to give up my job, I'd go back. Not to live at home but somewhere nearer.
