what do you call those things that they try different lenses on at the eye doctor?

there is the one that look like an empty glass frame and it is called a "trial frame" and there is that large thing that is put in front of your eyes and the doc keeps clicking on it and asking 1 or 2, 1 or 2 which is called a "phoropter".
